First Official Look At Hugh Jackman In ‘The Wolverine’

20th Century Fox has today unveiled this first official image of Hugh Jackman’s eponymous character in "The Wolverine".


Based on the celebrated comic book arc, THE WOLVERINE finds Logan, the eternal warrior and outsider, in Japan. There, samurai steel will clash with adamantium claw as Logan confronts a mysterious figure from his past in an epic battle that will leave him forever changed.”

‘The Wolverine’ takes inspiration from Chris Claremont and Frank Miller’s Marvel miniseries from the 1980s dealing with the character’s adventures in Japan. Alongside Hugh Jackman as the titular character, ‘The Wolverine’ co-stars Hiroyuki Sanada as Shingen, Hal Yamanouchi as Yashida, Tao Okamoto as Mariko, Rila Fukushima as Yukio, Brian Tee as Norubo Mori, Will Yun Lee as Kenuichio Harada/Silver Samurai, and Svetlana Khodchenkova as Viper. Scheduled for release July 26th, 2013, ‘The Wolverine’ is to be directed by James Mangold (3:10 to Yuma, Walk the Line, Knight and Day), while the script is by ‘The Usual Suspects’ scribe Christopher McQuarrie and Mark Bomback.
